Spay and Neuter Financial Assistance
We will assist you in having your companion pet spayed or neutered if you meet the below income guidelines. You will be asked to pay a $20 copay for cats and a $30 copay for dogs. Spay Stokes would pay for the remainder of the surgery costs (your pet must have a current rabies vaccination or you will also have to pay $15 for a rabies vaccination) DUE TO LIMITED FUNDING, NO MORE THAN TWO DOGS CAN BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED PER HOUSEHOLD . (We can assist with more than 2 cats per property but we cannot be expected to alter all of your cats). You will need to complete an application either online or one can be mailed to you. You must be 18 years of age (and be a resident of Stokes County) to complete an application. **CHECK THE INCOME GUIDELINES BELOW BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION** Applications CANNOT be processed without proof of income and a copy of a current, adult Medicaid card. If you do not have an email address, we will call or text you (please make sure you have your voicemails cleared out so we can leave a message) If we do not hear back from you after a period of time we will call or text you one additional time. Once a follow up phone call or text is made, it is your responsibility to provide the information we request in order to process your application. (We are manned by one volunteer on a daily basis so we do not have time to make repeated attempts to reach you). Please make sure your contact information is correct and that you check your spam folder when checking for an email. Applications are only good for the year in which they are filed.
